EMILIANO BLASI
Born in Frosinone, near Rome, Emiliano Blasi made his debut as an orchestral singer at the age of 18 on the Italian television network Canale 5. Under the direction of the legendary maestro of Italian film music, Roberto Pregadio, he toured nationwide across Italy for five years. He later played the role of Figaro in Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, officially launching his operatic career. As a soloist, he performed for two consecutive years at the prestigious Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and at the Corpus Domini Festival at the Orvieto Cathedral, in addition to appearing in numerous operas and concerts throughout Italy, Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands.
Blasi also sang in many operas and concerts under the baton of the great conductor Gustav Kuhn, including Mozart’s Credo Mass. He was a member of Kuhn’s academy and participated for six consecutive years as a soloist at the renowned Tiroler Festspiele, establishing himself as a prominent artist.
In 2010, he was cast in the title role of Gianni Schicchi in a production by the Puccini Festival Foundation in Lucca. He also performed as a soloist under the direction of Alberto Veronesi in a celebratory concert at the Puccini Festival Hall. At the 10th Casamari Opera Festival, he shared the stage with renowned soprano Francesca Patanè, earning high praise during the opening concert of the festival.
In October 2017, he appeared in Tosca in Milan.
Throughout his 20-year career, he has studied with prominent opera singers including Mirella Parutto (soprano), Antonio Boyer (baritone), Paolo Washington (bass), and Nicola Martinucci (tenor). He also attended four years of advanced masterclasses with tenor Veriano Luchetti and soprano Mietta Sighele. He refined his studies for a year with Renato Federighi, the famed vocal coach who collaborated with legendary artists such as Maria Callas, Mario Del Monaco, and Tito Schipa.
Among his main roles are Il calzolaio e l’esattore, La finta giardiniera, Tristan and Isolde, Rigoletto, and La Traviata. In 2012, with the sponsorship of the Lazio Region, he held a solo recital at Teatro Manzoni, captivating the audience with his extraordinary voice. Critics praised him for his vocal power and interpretive talent.
In addition to his operatic career, Emiliano Blasi has expanded his artistic work across various fields. He recorded vocals for a television commercial commissioned by the Italian food company Findus, and composed music for the shampoo ad of Moist Diane, a Japanese cosmetic brand by NatureLab.
In March 2016, he was featured in the men's health magazine Tarzan (published by Magazine House), where he discussed proper body usage and vocal techniques from an operatic singer’s perspective. That same year, starting in October, he also appeared on the NHK radio program Mainichi Italiano (Everyday Italian), in the segment titled “A Fantastic Stroll through Ancient Rome.”
For 12 years in Tokyo, he led a course called “Opera Singing Lessons with an Italian Opera Singer,” where he taught not only music, but also vocal techniques grounded in proper posture and breathing. His students ranged beyond opera singers to include actors, voice actors, Buddhist monks, and other professionals who rely heavily on their voice.
He has taken part in numerous events organized by the Italian Embassy in Japan and the Italian Chamber of Commerce, collaborating with Italian fashion brands such as Dolce & Gabbana. He has performed at luxury hotels and corporate events, and composed music for media productions.
